Due to the stormy weather, Omaha Public Power District’s planned nighttime work over the West Dodge Expressway will be delayed. This work was supposed to take place between Wednesday night, May 22 and run through the overnight hours of Monday, May 27.

It will now take place between May 28 and June 1. During the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., there will be temporary lane closures on the West Dodge Expressway between 120th and 132nd streets. One lane will remain open to traffic in each direction during this work.

OPPD is working with the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the state patrol on these lane restrictions to safely complete our work.

This work is part of a project to upgrade and improve a transmission line that runs between 108th & Blondo streets to 123rd & Pacific streets. It was built in the 1950s and must be updated to continue to deliver reliable electric service as demand in the area continues to grow.

We know that road work like this can be inconvenient for commuters. OPPD greatly appreciates our customers’ patience as we work to maintain the health of our electric system.
