What to expect when your meter is due for installation
OPPD will notify you about 90 days ahead of when we expect to begin exchanging meters in your area. We’ll provide everything you need to know at that time.
What to know
- OPPD will provide a timeframe for your exchange within 2 weeks ahead of your appointment.
- Unless otherwise informed, you will not need to be home for the exchange.
- The exchange process may cause a brief disruption of power (usually just a few minutes).
How to prepare

If you have any life-sustaining medical equipment in your home, please enroll in OPPD's Life-Sustaining Equipment (LSE) Program. If your meter is located indoors, notify OPPD prior to your meter exchange by calling 877-536-4131.

Make sure your meter is easily accessible for our technicians. This includes making sure gates are unlocked, maintaining the yard near the meter, keeping the area free of obstacles, and arranging to have pets leashed/indoors on the day of your appointment.
