OPPD warns customers against false solar-installation partner

WAYS TO REPORT A POWER OUTAGE

Omaha Public Power District has received several reports of people visiting customers’ homes, representing a solar installation company and falsely representing the company as a partner with OPPD.

OPPD has a number of solar energy products and programs, including solar rebates, residential community solar, and solutions and rebates for businesses wanting to add solar. However, please note that OPPD does not contract out the work to promote and communicate about these products.

Customers that choose to add solar generation to their home or business should review a list of OPPD-approved solar installers, also called trade allies, that have undergone specialized training, understand program requirements and can handle the rebate application process for you. Customers who have any questions about how to get started with adding solar to their home or business are encouraged to visit OPPD.com.

Customers wanting to report anyone representing themselves as an OPPD partner or contractor should call us at 402-536-4131 in the Omaha calling area or 877-536-4131 outside of the Omaha area.
