Omaha Public Power District is continuing its Integrated System Plan (ISP) process with the second in a series of virtual public workshops on May 14 at 5:00 p.m. This session, Key Assumptions & Scenario Development, will walk participants through the foundational assumptions guiding the ISP and invite community input as OPPD and its consultants begin building future energy scenarios.
The ISP is OPPD’s long‑term roadmap for ensuring reliable, affordable, and sustainable power as the region grows. The plan evaluates transmission and distribution needs, customer‑focused solutions, and a wide range of resource technologies to prepare for multiple future demand possibilities.
OPPD is encouraging customers to stay engaged throughout the process. Feedback for the first workshop is open through April 23, with participants asked to share what they believe are the most probable and impactful future circumstances that could shape energy consumption or generation. This input will directly support the work presented in Workshop #2.
To register for the May 14 session or learn more about the ISP, visit OPPDCommunityConnect.com/ISP. All workshops will be recorded and posted online with one-page summaries for those unable to attend live.
To support this effort, OPPD is partnering with Energy+Environmental Economics (E3), a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in objective energy system analysis. Together, OPPD and E3 will evaluate a wide range of technologies — from demand‑side solutions to emerging generation options — and develop actionable pathways that align with OPPD’s mission.
Through collaboration with customers and community stakeholders, OPPD aims to ensure its energy system continues to reliably meet evolving needs while supporting economic growth and environmental stewardship.
