Diverse Fuel Mix

OPPD's current fuel sources for generation are low-sulfur coal, wind, solar, landfill gas, natural gas and fuel oil and hydroelectric.

OPPD does extensive research to create its energy portfolio. Many considerations weigh into the current generation mix and future state. As new technologies emerge and regulations evolve, the Energy Portfolio so too will change.

OPPD currently owns or has power purchase agreements for over 1,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable assets including:

Wind — 1,272 MW
Solar — 86 MW
Landfill Gas — 6 MW
Hydroelectric — 81MW

Peregrine Falcon Live Cam

Watch the North Omaha Station Peregrine Falcon live cam. The camera was installed in Nov. 2019 and gives a birds eye view of the falcons.
